I Was Told

This weekend, I went to Target with my mom and Kimberly. My mom told me to tell Jack to sit down in the cart. I did, but wasn't very persistent with keeping his butt down. Well, today we went to Costco for our routine trip and Jack stood in the back. He usually hangs on, but not today. I started pushing and he must have lost his balance. He did a face plant on the concrete floor right under the clothes table at Costco. They way he landed, I thought he broke his neck, but thankfully, it was mostly a bloody, fat lip. He was bleeding and had blood on his hands, shirt and face. It looks like he hit smashed and cut that piece of skin that connects your upper gum to your lip. We cleaned him up and he kept saying, "Jack fell out of cart. It scare Jack". Later I was talking to him and I said, "It scared mommy" and he replied, "it scared Jack, too". Ironically, when we were in the bathroom, we saw a nurse from his pediatricians office and she said he should be fine, just make sure I look at his teeth for any darkening. He was in a good mood tonight and seems okay. Poor little guy.

Good Day

Today was one of those days; finally a good day. I shouldn't say finally because we usually have good days thanks to Jesus! But, from start to finish, it just was good. Craig took Jack to the museum this morning to check out the "bears, pigs, goats, cows and ducks" (according to Jack) and I had a little quality time with my vacuum, the carpets, the laundry and some dust wipes. We have a love-hate relationship. I hated doing it, but I love it when it is done. Craig, my dad and Brent went to a church function and I went to my mom's. Jack drove the Jeep and tractor around and Kate swung in the swingset. We then went with all 5 kids to Target - me, my mom and Kimberly. We looked like the Dugger's heading in with 3 carts and a bunch of kids. Chick-Fil-A came next and then ice cream. We went back to my mom's, bathed all the kids and they are in BED. I am very grateful for easy days like today and for wonderful family and kids. Here is my beautiful girl...

Valentine's Weekend

Well, we weren't intending to go out of town specifically for Valentine's Day, but Craig's conference got us out of town for the weekend. We left the kids with my parents and had a great time. Friday night was dinner with clients and partners in the law firm at an awesome steak restaurant. I had the Filet and it...was...good. It was nice to have dinner with adults and not hear "mommy" 176 times and pick up food off the floor. Saturday was fun too. Craig and his boss went to a lunch meeting and I headed out for some outlet shopping. I got myself and the kids some new shoes and was headed back to the hotel when I discovered a flat tire. Not low, but F-L-A-T. I drove to get gas and there wasn't any air, so I kept going and ended up at the mall. I stopped, parked and called the insurance road-side assistance. Craig and his boss were done, so they came and changed the tire and put on the donut. Craig and I then went to Sams and got a brand new tire. I had purchased all 4 only about 4 months ago and they were still under warranty. They found a 3-inch razor blade in the tire. So, either someone was mad at me and stuck it in there or I ran over it. I think the latter. From the discovery of the flat to leaving Sams was only about 4 hours - it could have been much worse. The crazy thing is last February 13th, 2009 we were headed to North Carolina and we had a flat tire and got it fixed at Sams. No more travel on February 13th in my car from now on. Saturday night we dined on mahi-mahi and tuna - a dinner just us and came home on Sunday afternoon. I missed my babies, but really enjoyed my time with Craig. It was short, but sweet. Thanks to my parents who made it happen by watching the kids and NADA for the conference so we could go.

Crazy Times

It's been crazy y'all. Since I last blogged, we have been so busy. Unfortunately, we were busy for a sad reason. One of our family member's (Craig's step-dad) passed away this week. It has been trying and will continue to be, but God heals all wounds and he was saved, so we rejoice in his new life that he has with Jesus.

But before that, I did a little sewing and we went to the local museum that hosts tons of local animals. We got a year pass and I am glad we did. Jack loves the bears and all the other animals. This time we went with Lisa, Kayleigh and Brian. Brian and Kate mostly snoozed and hung out in their strollers. Kayleigh and Jack were busy running up and down the boardwalks and looking for the animals. All the animals were out and moving around, except the bears which I thought was funny.

My sewing project was a "trash bag" for the car. However, I decided to use it as a diaper/wipe/toy holder for the backseat.
